Australia has recently introduced several visa changes that will directly impact international students and recent graduates. The most noticeable change is a significant increase in visa application fees.
Graduate Visa Fees Have Doubled
One of the biggest updates is the price increase for the Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485). This visa allows international students who complete their studies in Australia to stay and work in the country after graduating.
As of 1 March, the application fee of this visa has doubled from $2,300 to $4,600.
However, the new pricing does not apply to passport holders from Pacific countries and Timor-Leste, recognising Australia’s close regional ties.
