WA new occupation lists released for WA Migration include:
- Western Australian skilled migration occupation list (WASMOL) which now has Schedule 1 and Schedule 2
- Graduate occupation list (GOL).
Applicants who have a nominated occupation identified on the WASMOL or GOL may be eligible for Western Australia nomination using one of the following visa subclasses:
- Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)
- Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491)
General stream WASMOL Schedule 1 requirements include:
Applicant must:
- be living in Australia and not subject to section 48 bar.
- meet English requirements as follows:
– holds UK, Canada, NZ USA, Ireland passport or
– show proficient English (table 1) if your occupation is an ANZSCO Major Occupation Group 1 (Managers) or Group 2 (Professionals) occupation. Otherwise, you will need competent English (table 2)
- meet work experience requirements as follows:
– at least one year of work experience in Australia or
– at least three years of work experience overseas.
- provide a contract of employment for full time employment:
– in WA at least 12 months from the date of application for State nomination
– is defined as 35 hours per week.
- If the applicant lives outside of WA, a sufficient settlement funds to cover the settlement and living costs for at least three months must be demonstrated by the applicant.
General stream WASMOL Schedule 2 requirements:
Applicant must:
- be living in Australia and not subject to section 48 bar.
- meet English requirements (table 1 & 2).
- meet Australian study requirements:
– Gained a university or higher education qualification such as PhD, Masters, Bachelor, or higher degree, or
– A vocational education and training (VET) qualification at Cert III level or above. - have studied at least two years in WA. It can be different qualifications:
– University/higher education
– VET (Cert III level or above) and/or
– English language programs.
Graduate stream requirements:
Applicant must:
- have an occupation on the Graduate occupation list (GOL).
- be living in Australia and not subject to section 48 bar.
- meet English requirements (table 1 & 2).
- To meet WA study requirements:
– Applicant must gain a university or higher education qualification such as PhD, Masters, Bachelor, or higher degree, or
– A vocational education and training (VET) qualification at Cert III level or above. - Applicant must have studied at least two years in WA. It can be different qualifications:
– University/higher education
– VET (Cert III level or above) and/or
– English language programs.
To meet Accredited WA university or higher education providers, applicant must:
- Registered as an Australian higher education provider with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).
- Registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) and
- Study bachelor or post graduate courses full time through face to face on campus in WA.
To meet Accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET), applicant must:
- Registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
- Registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRISCOS) and
- Study full time through face to face on campus in WA.
To meet Accredited provider of English language programs, applicant must:
- Registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRISCOS) and
- Study full time through face to face on campus in WA.
- Provide supporting documents as evidence.
- To meet the work experience or employment contract requirement, applicant must
– Have at least six months Australian work experience in nominated occupation or
– Have a six month contract of employment of employment in nominated occupation in WA.
