Graduate visa
The Graduate visa allows international students who have graduated from an Australian educational institution to gain some Australian work experience by working full-time in this country.
You may also register for a Professional Year Program to further equip you in your profession, enhance future employment opportunities and gain an extra 5 points towards your skilled migration visa. The Professional Year pathway is only eligible for international students who have graduated from courses related to Accounting, Information Technology or Engineering.
The Graduate visa may be granted for a period of between 18 months to 2 years, depending on your circumstances and the stream under which you may apply.
- Post-Vocational Education Work stream (Diploma or Certificate level with nominated occupation in the SOL)
- Post-Higher Education Work stream (Degree or Master degree level)
The requirements for this visa include:
- Be 35 years of age or under (exceptions may apply)
- Hold an eligible Australian visa when applying
- Have recently completed a CRICOS-registered course
- Lodge your application within the required timeframe after completing your studies
- Meet the relevant health, character and English language requirements
- Satisfy the requirements of the stream you’re applying under
Students are only able to apply for a Graduate visa once as a primary applicant.
You must be in Australia at the time of the application and when your visa is decided.
